Wonder if it’s ok to take a calcium chew (“Seen” calcium chews contain milk minerals)? Am 83, plant based except for occasional yogurt and rare cheese. Soy, gluten and glucose sensitive. Osteopenia. Joint issues (low back, hips, wrists, thumb) Thank you ! Kind wishes, Sandy

Also, but it would make sense in light of not talking about plant based supplements, that you talk about the difference between the absorption rate of plant based supplements and rock based calcium. AlgaeCal is studied extensively and is plant based.

Thank you James for your comment. Many plant foods are rich in multiple minerals and it is definitely important to ensure enough magnesium intake is in the diet. Thank you Karyn for your comment and thoughtful inquiry. You are correct that soy-based products, almonds and other plant based foods are also higher levels for oxalates. When managing a health condition it is best to still follow your doctor’s advice for your unique needs. We also have a wonderful article describing in more detail about oxalates, and how to reduce oxalates in food: https://foodrevolution.org/blog/are-oxalates-bad-for-you/

Could you share the whole recipe. I take Letrozole and I need to make sure to get enough calcium from food even though the oncologist recommends 1200 mg a day. Never went above 300 though.thank you so much.
