I remember Dr. John Mcdougal said because of such dosages on bottles just take once a week, or for he himself and wife when they remembered. Because your body will only use what it needs

I recently had my Vitamin B12 level checked. I do not routinely take B12 supplements throughout the year, I take it based on my blood work results. Thank you.

Being vegetarian since 1991 and vegan since 2005, I didn’t worry about B12. During this 35 years of plant based diet, I never had a health issues, I have never been sick, never been to a doctor or hospital. I lived all this long period the powerful lobbies of meat have to use B12 for propaganda and ideological aim having no incidence on human health. I’m very grateful to Ocean for this article providing me with precious information about B12

He has me taking a liquid B12 supplement, 3 squirts (.5 mL) a day.

The content on the bottle refers to all the capsules or pills. My B complex supplement has 100mcg and there are 100 capsules, hence 1 mcg per capsule, probably half required but as it is stored in the liver one a day may be enough!

At 85 years young and a keen WPNut eater but not obsessed, I try to cover myself by taking a B complex capsule that gives me 1mcg, add kimchi and sauerkraut to my salads as well as breaking my rules with a small amount of fish once a week. I shall get my blood checked for B12 in the near future, just to reassure myself.

I had exactly the same question. I take 2 1000mcg tablets a week – one on a Sunday and one on a Wednesday – am I taking too much? My levels were fine last time I had a blood test (back in Jan).

For an adult, the article states taking 2.4 mcg. But on supplement bottles, tablets vary from 250 mcg to 2000 mcg. That ‘s a major difference. Is the article stating the recommended intake in mg rather than mcg ? Otherwise, taking a 1000 mcg is WAY over the recommended amount.
